Spoilers & Speculation
WARNING - THIS PAGE
CONTAINS PLOT AND CHARACTER REVEALS. PLEASE READ
AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!
All the details in this, and the following pages,
has been drawn from intial script casting pages
and may be subject to change. However, alot of
what is contained 'feels' fairly accurate when
looked at as a whole. Individual scenes and or
lines of dialgoue may change or be exlcuded from
the final aired Pilot.
The pages are divided into character
information/background [here],
secondly full-on
plot reveals and speculation around this
[here], and lastly bionic
technical info for the new show [here].
Again, all 3 pages contain some major plot info!
Bionic technical info
Jaime
has had both leg replaced along with an arm, right
ear and right eye. She has had one eight of her
blood cells replaced with nanocytes, tiny molecular
machines.
Jaime also has increased healing abilities -
sans Wolverine from the X-Men and Claire from
Heroes - as when she wakes up in hospital the
gashes and lacerations from the crash are now
just pales lines of healing cuts and light bruising.
When first replaced, the Bionic limbs are transparent,
beneath which the biomechanical machinery is visible.
Jaime see her skin flash opaque, looking for an
instant like normal skin. She is told this is
the nanocytes adapting to mimic the colour, hair
and configuration of her skin. In time they will
look and feel like normal limbs, undistinguishable
from the real thing.
Unlike
on the original show there are no wires, metals
or electronics. The structures within the limb
mimic human bones, muscles and tissues, but the
colours and shapes are different:
Bones are Black-silver Titanium Ceramics; Muscles
are stark white, flexible, striated, connected
by green tendons and ligaments, whipcord thin;
Veins pulse in a network of pale blue-white "blood",
tiny flows of mercury-like quicksilver race over
everything, darting like lightning everywhere:
bionic nerve impulses.
Bledsoe talks to Jaime about "one of the
chips in your brain" implying there is more
than one - additional 'control' chips may have
been implanted in Jaime in addition to the basic
bionic modifications. How many and what their
full purpose is, is unknown. However bearing in
the 'cyborgs' are regards as weapons and potential
government property it is a safe bet to guess
they would be used for tracking/monitoring purposes.
They may also have some control purpose via pain/suggestion/urge.
It may have communication capabilities as well
as Wi-Fi to connect to the web/computer servers
whilst the person is in the field.
One
of the chips Jaime has/had was a 'combat chip',
tied directly to her cerbal cortex. This allows
scenarios to be downloaded to her brain so she
can see, feel, even taste the combat experience.
It can definitely simulate people [but is unlikey
to create full-blown environments due to it's
size/power] and once active draws upon her sub-conscious
to and so can fully interact with her., basically
creating holographic opponents, much like the
X-Men's Danger Room or a Star Trek-style Holodeck
although on a smaller scale.
When Jaime's Bionic limbs become torn, they leak
blue-white blood.
Jaime can jump at least 25 feet into the air:
she clears a 24-foot high perimieter fence, topped
with razorwire, when she escapes the hospital/compound.
One description in the script for a POV shot
has Jaime "running towards us like a Bionic
Nike commercial"
The
show will include sounds/visual effects for Jaime's
bionics, including a Terminator-style scanner
in her Bionic eye which will allow her to 'see'
beneath/into objects in an x-ray/scanner style
visual effect. Her eye also has a 'threat assessment'
mode - when she see Jae Kim in an alley it flashes
a Threat Assessment of 99.7% as it outlines a
gun beneath his jacket!
