information/background [here],

Plot Reveals & Speculation
Jaime is pregnant at the start of the Pilot,
Will is the father. Despite the heavy responsibility
she feels towards looking after her sister, Jamie
wants to keep the baby.
Sarah Corvus is driving the truck which crashes
into Will's car causing the accident which ends
up seeing Jaime made Bionic [NEW]
The flashback at the start of the Pilot sees
an enraged and feral Sarah Corvus covered in blood
in the wrecked corridors of a hospital complex.
Jae and a squadron of troops face Sarah down.
Sarah asks Jae to tell her he loves her, before
he leaping at towards him, at which point he shoots
her [NEW].
Will
appears to take the decision to 'save' Jaime with
Bionics by himself, the project head, Jonas Bledsoe,
is unaware of the procedure until it is brought
to his attention mid-way through the operation.
When Jonas sees it is Jaime, he recognises her
as Will's girlfriend - it is likely that in an
organisation such as this Jonas and his people
keep a tight watch on their people, what they
do, who they see/meet, who is special in their
lives. [This scenes in in
the preview clips]
When Jaime first wakes up in hospital after the
crash, her first thoughts are for her baby. After
looking at Will and seeing his reaction, she realises
she has lost it - you have to wonder if she really
lost the baby or it was 'saved' and is part of
the same government experiment that Jaime is.
What if the Bionic implants were begun BEFORE
the baby was removed. Would some of the nanocites
be passed along to the child in it's mother's
blood? This is pure conspiracy theory stuff, but
what better opportunity to try out the Bionics
programme on an un-born foetus literally, delivered
into their hands? The baby might exhibit accelerated
growth, strength and intelligence along with other
'engineered' traits they might want to give it.
Further down the line, cloning of the baby could
be goal/option, shades of James Cameron's series
Dark Angel. This could also lead to a potentially
explosive and controversial storyline later in
the series [if picked-up] when Jaime learns that
her baby didn't die and she comes face-to-face
with her fully grown offspring! Another avenue
is what happens if Jaime becomes pregnant once
she is Bionic? Will the nanocytes transfer to
the child in the womb and create the first 'natural'
Bionic baby? If so, how big a deal would THAT
be for Jonas to get his hands on the kid? Anyone
who has watched the re-imagined Battlestar Galatcica
Will likely have seen the human/cylon baby plot
thread and how the child was sought after by both
the humans [who wanted to keep it a secret] and
the cylons [who wanted to examine it and keep
it for themselves]
Whilst
Jaime is in hospital after the accident, Becca
is told that Jaime has gone away for the weekend
with Dr Masters and Mrs Arakelian looks after
her.
Jonas tells Jaime, when she wakes up, that she
is in possession of $50M of highly classified
government technology and since she can't give
it back, she can earn it back, by working for
Jonas and his facility [This
scene appears to take place in the street between
Jonas and Jaime later in the Pilot]
Whilst Jaime's is trying to escape from the compound
she is pursued by Will, Jonas, Ruth, Jae and various
of soldiers.Jonas reveals to the group that the
initial accident - the car that struck Jaime -
"wasn't an accident" He says "According
to the autopsy, the driver's neck was broken an
hour before the crash, which means someone else
was driving the car"
Jaime's 'job interview' for working with Bledsoe
appears to entails a full-on fight with Sarah,
leaving Jaime's in tatters. Both are bloodied
and bruised after the fight. - Jaime apparent
needs to get dressed at the end of the fight,
so it's possible that Sarah surprises Jaime at
the apartment as she is changing/getting dressed
possibly early morning or when getting home from
work.
Jaime needs to 'save Masters' - He may have been
taken by Sarah, either as part of a 'test' for
Jaime or Jaime may have found out that Sarah is
tragetting Will because of his relationship to
her. This likely ties in to Will being shot.
Jaime has a run-in with a drug dealer prior
to the accident. The drug dealer confronts her
again and threatens her, unbeknownst to him he
is now facing a Bionic Jaime Sommers
.
Will is shot by Sarah, with a sniper rifle.[Yes,
this scene is in the preview clips and Sarah in
on a rooftop several blocks away. Jaime 'sees'
here with her Bionic Vision and goes after her]
Jonas
tells Jaime Will is dead. He says he died on the
operating table after being shot - is he really
dead? Jonas could be lying to confuse/influence
Jaime as we already know Bledsoe has propensity
to lie/manipulate people. Also during the initial
Bionic procedure on Jaime, Jonas is furious with
Will, but Will says "You need me, Jonas.
I'm the last one" - the last what? Bledsoe
has already withheld the news of Will's death
to force Jaime to undertake a mission for him.
As Will is the person who 'made' Jaime Bionic
it would make sense for him to be a regular character.
He is also shown to have history with Bledsoe,
Jaime and Becca' and it would seem a waste not
to explore these relationships further. If it
is true and he does die, it would make a nice
plot device to explore Jaime's reaction to the
loss of someone she loves coming as it does on
top of the guilt she already carries around about
her parents on and set-up her motivations for
how she behaves going forward to Bledsoe and the
organisation she now finds herself involved with.
Jamie for some reason does not complete her training
with Jae, and reflects to Ruth after Will is shot,
if she's stayed could she have prevented her boyfriend
being hurt? Ruth said says she could: she would
have had faster reaction times, better combat
responses
A sub-plot involves a cconspiracy, one that involves
Sarah Corvus, Will's father, and a mysterious
man with a prediletion for self-surgery.[NEW]
Jaime returns home at some point to find Sarah
inside, holding Becca, the apartment trashed.
This appear to be the second time they have met
as when Jaime says she won't hurt Sarah is she
lets Becca go, Sarah says ' "I'm not sure
you could. You didn't last time"
Early
on the script struggles/tackles the issue of the
fact that despite their 'machine' parts Jaime
and the other cyborgs are still very much human.
When she learns of the news of Will's death and
how she has been deceived by Bledsoe, she pins
him up against a wall and says " You're so
far into your world of lies and secrets that you've
forgotten what it means to be an actual person.
Ironic, considering how much more 'human' you
are than me. Technically"
Techno Sapiens is a term Sarah says is a phrase
some of the cyborgs are using now to describe
themselves.
The complex that Jonas works from is referred
to as.a Manhattan Project for the 21st Century.
But the weapons were people and Bionics was only
one of the programs.
Mutagenics, pharmacological agents -- drugs that
altered genes, changed body chemistry, reworked
the nervous or adrenal system -- and of course,
various kinds of implanted machinery are used
in the project
The
subjects ware all volunteers. They developed a
wide range of abilities, all of them different.
They broke out and killed the scientists who helped
create them. Will was the only one not in the
complex that day. Sarah appears to be one of the
main organisers of the breakout possibly due to
her personality change after the bionic implants
-- she went insane.
There are factions now, groups within groups --
at war with each other, and with Bledsoe's organisation.
