Meet Oscar, the world's first Bionic cat!
After a close encounter with a combine harvester, Oscar the moggie lost his 2 back feet, but is now better, stronger, and at least as fast thanx to a pioneering operation which has seen him been given 2 Bionic feet following a 4-month recovery period, by a UK vet. The new feet are custom-made implants that "peg" the ankle to the foot. They are bioengineered to mimic the way deer antler bone grows through the skin. The operation - a world first - was carried out by Noel Fitzpatrick, a veterinary surgeon based in Surrey. His work is explored in a BBC documentary called The Bionic Vet. The cat, named Oscar, was referred to Mr Fitzpatrick by his local vet in Jersey, following the accident last October. Oscar was struck by the combine harvester whilst dozing in the sun.
BBC News has incredible footage of Oscar being fitted with his new legs and walking on them for the first time. Watch it here...

Bionic shows being rebuilt to DVD?
Keneth Johnson has announced on his official site that it appears to be all systems go for finally seeing the Bionic shows - both The Bionic Woman and The Six Million Dollar Man - on DVD in their native country - USA. He says he is hoping to contribute commentaries to several episodes and that other extra's may be forthcoming. The news is also supported via the Yaho Bionicfans Groups as well as TV Shows on DVD. It may have something to do with the news back in March that the Bionic shows are returning to TV this Summer. The re-air may be tied to the DVD release in part due to the expense of possibly cleaning up the episodes for airing in the current Hi-Def environment. There is also speculation as to whether the shows will come out as individual seasons or a s a box set. More a s we hear it.

Get back to the 80's.. Bionic style!
It's been availble to pre-order for a while and we thank everyone who has reminded us we need to add it to the site. The Return of The Six Million Dollar Man & Bionic Woman is coming to DVD R2 on the 26th of April. It's already out in Australia and we've seen some reviews/screengrabs of the conversion and whilst it's not been cleaned up much from the original airing, or re-mastered, it is still nice to have it out to own officially. No extras, just a bare-bones release, but what the heck! You can pre-order it from Play or Amazon UK.
